As part of the Belle Haven Traffic Calming Plan, the City and Caltrans will turn off the Willow Road and Newbridge Street signal from Sunday night (Dec. 1) at approximately 9 p.m. to Monday (Dec. 2) around 1 p.m. The signal will be out temporarily to change the signal operation and equipment upgrades on Newbridge Street to improve pedestrian crossings (to cross Willow Road). No operational changes will be made to Willow Road.

These changes are being made as part of our Vision Zero initiative to reduce fatalities in the City of Menlo Park. The new signal operation will separate the pedestrian phase from the left-turning vehicular phase and remove the conflict.

We encourage residents to find alternative routes during the signal shut off, such as Marsh Road or University Avenue. We understand this will be an inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. For additional information, please visit the project website or contact Senior Transportation Engineer Kevin Chen at (650) 330-6748 or kchen@menlopark.gov.
