Community Zero Waste Plan

Adopted in 2017, the community zero waste plan serves as a guiding policy that outlines strategies for the community to implement to significantly reduce waste while reinforcing proper waste disposal practices. Within the plan, zero waste is defined as 90% of waste being either recycled or composted.

The community zero waste plan outlines a goal to recycle and/or compost at least 73% of waste by 2035. To achieve this goal, the community will need to reduce the amount of landfilled materials generated to 3.1 pounds per person per day.
