Recent news

Gunfire report downgraded to fireworks after police response

Published on December 17, 2025

MPPD dispatch received a call reporting a person possibly armed with a gun in the area of Valparaiso Ave and Hallmark Cir and a report of possible shots fired. Officers responded to the area but did not locate anyone matching the description provided. Upon further clarification from the reporting party, a gun was not seen and the sound heard was determined to be fireworks.

You may file an online police report and print a confirmation page for your records. After submittal, your report will be reviewed by a staff member. Staff may contact you if additional investigation is needed.
