Water system master plan

The 2018 Water System Master Plan(PDF, 27MB) was created for Menlo Park Municipal Water as a comprehensive evaluation of Menlo Park’s water distribution system.

The master plan identifies strategies to

• Meet the system’s infrastructure needs in a cost-effective manner
• Guide capital expenditures for the system
• Furnish important guidance to enhance renewal and replacement strategies, operational and water quality practices
• Provides a framework for diversifying Menlo Park Municipal Water’s water supply.

In 2022, the City’s consultant made minor clarifications/corrections to the 2018 Plan (2022 Supplement(PDF, 21MB)) that reevaluated storage requirements based on existing water demands and 2040 conditions using the water hydraulic model, and updated the five-year capital projects for water storage/supply and water line replacements.
