The City of Menlo Park is excited to announce the return of some of our favorite winter events this year. The 2022 programming includes the Light up the Season event on Friday, Dec. 2, in Fremont Park and Photos with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center.

After a few pandemic years that saw the cancellation of several popular traditions in Menlo Park, the City Council approved the return of some of the most beloved events and activities. Following a successful Halloween Hoopla parade in October, the winter traditions that we know and love are back as well.

For Light up the Season on Dec. 2, bring your family and friends to Fremont Park for our annual tree lighting event. This “winter wonderland” themed free event features family-friendly entertainment, performances by Menlo Park youth, wintry photo opportunities, free hot cocoa, and the annual lighting of the big evergreen tree. It’s a festive community gathering for people of all ages and walks of life to enjoy.

Photos with Santa on Dec. 10 provides a unique experience for your child to meet Santa and get that perfect photo opportunity. Bring your camera and join us with friends and family for a morning full of holiday cheer! Advance reservations are required for this event. For $5 per person, enjoy a continental breakfast, holiday crafts and your moment with Santa!

Check out these and more community events on the city website.
