City Council to discuss permanent outdoor dining program Feb. 28

At its Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, meeting, the City Council will consider options to create a permanent outdoor dining program and evaluate the street closures on Santa Cruz Avenue and Ryan's Lane.

During the pandemic, the Council authorized the Temporary Outdoor Use Permit program that allowed restaurants to create outdoor dining options in parklets, on sidewalks and on closed streets.

A new outdoor dining program would strengthen safety standards, create consistent design standards and formalize requirements for use of the public right of way.
