Sandbag locations

As we head into wet weather season, the City is prepared for upcoming winter weather and closely monitors the weather forecast for storms. Residents can pick up sand and empty bags to prepare for wet weather as of Friday, Dec. 1. Sandbags can be used to redirect and divert water away from your home or business. Please remember to bring a shovel.

Menlo Park has three sandbag stations at the following locations:  

  • Burgess Park parking lot at Alma Street and Burgess Drive
  • Fire Station 77 at 1467 Chilco St.
  • Temporary pop-up at Pope St. Island: 222 Laurel Ave.

Be flood-ready. Here are some essential tips:

  • Know your flood risk – is your property / neighborhood at risk of potential flooding?
  • Be flood smart and play it safe. Protect your property and do not drive into flooded areas. Please obey road closures and detours.
  • Sign up for notification services during emergencies and follow us on social media.
  • Visit the storms and flooding web page and consider steps to prepare for the winter weather.
