Menlo Park, Calif. – On September 4, 2025, at approximately 9:15 a.m., San Bruno Police Department notified Menlo Park Police Department of a stolen vehicle heading toward the City of Menlo Park, tracked by Flock cameras (automatic license plate readers - ALPRs).

Menlo Park officers quickly located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled on foot into a residential neighborhood, where he stole a bicycle in an attempt to escape.

With assistance from community members who provided the suspect’s direction of travel, officers were able to locate and safely detain him. The suspect, Anthony Ramos Santos, a 42 year old transient male on probation for stolen vehicle offenses, was arrested and booked into county jail on charges of 496D(A) PC - possession of a stolen vehicle and 148(A)(1) PC - willfully resist, delay, or obstruct a peace officer.

The undamaged vehicle was returned to the rightful owner in the same condition it was taken.

This case highlights the value of technology and community partnership in helping law enforcement keep Menlo Park safe.
