Annual water flushing program 2025 Published on December 22, 2025 Menlo Park Municipal Water has started to conduct its annual water main flushing. Gunfire report downgraded to fireworks after police response Published on December 17, 2025 MPPD dispatch received a call reporting a person possibly armed with a gun in the area of Valparaiso Ave and Hallmark Cir and a report of possible shots fired. Officers responded to the area but did not locate anyone matching the description provided. City administrative office closures and holiday impacts Published on December 16, 2025 City offices will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025 through Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026 for the holidays. City offices will re-open Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. Menlo Park Shuttles will be out of service Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2026. Police respond to mental health incident Published on December 16, 2025 Menlo Park Police responded to calls of a person with a gun. When officers arrived, it was determined that the person and vehicle matched the description of a missing and suicidal person. Overnight parking enforcement deferred for the holidays Published on December 15, 2025 The City will suspend residential overnight parking enforcement during the holiday season. The overnight parking ordinance will not be enforced beginning Monday morning, Dec. 22, through Sunday morning, Jan. 4, 2026. It will resume at 2 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2026. Upcoming solar carport installation at Kelly Park Dec. 17 Published on December 15, 2025 Public Works will soon begin the installation of solar panel carports at the Kelly Field parking lot (100 Terminal Ave.). Volunteer for the One Day Homeless Count Jan. 29, 2026 Published on December 15, 2025 San Mateo County is seeking volunteers for the 2026 One Day Homeless Count, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 from 5–10 a.m. The One Day Homeless Count is a federally required snapshot of the number of people experiencing homelessness on a single morning.
