We achieve this through crime suppression and problem solving, crime analysis and development of crime prevention strategies.

Introducing the Community Watch Group Program

The Menlo Park Police Department is pleased to re-introduce our long standing neighborhood watch program under a new name: the Community Watch Group (CWG). The Community Watch Group is a community based volunteer initiative that encourages residents to work together to promote awareness, communication and neighborhood safety.

Register your block party for National Night Out 2026!

National Night Out is coming up Tuesday, Aug. 4 and we want you to participate. Celebrations generally happen anywhere from 5–10 p.m. National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and crime prevention. National Night Out is a great opportunity to engage with your neighbors, police officers and city staff.

Police reinstate alarm response program: Alarm registration required

Menlo Park PD is reinstating its Alarm Response Program effective July 1, 2026, to improve emergency response efficiency, reduce false alarm calls, and ensure accurate contact information. All residential and commercial alarm systems must be registered annually, beginning July 1 and renewing each fiscal year. In addition, updated false alarm response fees will take effect on Aug. 1, 2026.
