New water rates for Menlo Park Municipal Water customers
Published on June 30, 2025
Menlo Park Municipal Water serves about 4,400 customers. Water rates are reviewed and adjusted regularly to fund the costs of ongoing operations and future capital infrastructure needs.
The new fiscal year (FY) 25-26 water rates will go into effect beginning July 1. Customers should expect to see an increase of about 2 percent on their August water bills for July usage.
FY 25-26 Water rates consist of the following:
- Monthly fixed meter charge based on the size of the water meter
- Water consumption charge (three-tier) based on metered water use
- Water capital surcharge based on metered water use of $1.92 per centum cubic feet (ccf)
- San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) wholesale pass-through rate of $0.74 per ccf
- Consumption charges based on the amount of water used by the customer. Water usage is measured in centum cubic feet (ccf) where 1 ccf is equal to 748 gallons.
The rates outlined below are based on an average residential water account with a 5/8” meter and an average usage of 12 ccf per month.
