City Council selects top priorities for fiscal year 2025-26

City Councilmembers reviewed accomplishments from the past year, received a financial update, reviewed results from the community priorities survey, considered Environmental Justice Element priorities, selected the top priorities for fiscal year 2025-26 and discussed downtown street closures.

San Mateo County Tsunami Awareness Week and new Tsunami Dashboard

This week, San Mateo County is recognizing Tsunami Awareness Week with the launch of its new Tsunami Hazard Area Dashboard. The Tsunami Hazard Map was created by the San Mateo County Department of Emergency Management to help identify areas that could potentially be impacted by a tsunami, allowing residents and visitors to prepare for tsunamis at their home, work or planned vacation destination.

Capturing Rainwater for Reuse Workshop March 21

Menlo Park Municipal Water customers are eligible for a rebate of up to $200 for the purchase and installation of a rain barrel. If you would like to participate in this program but are not sure where to get started, the City is hosting a Capturing Rainwater for Reuse Workshop March 21 from 5 to 6 p.m. via Zoom to assist and educate residents on how to get started.

Zero Emission Landscape Equipment (ZELE) ordinance update

The Environmental Quality Commission (EQC) will receive a ZELE ordinance update at their upcoming regular meeting on March 19 at 6 p.m. at City Hall or via Zoom. Attend the meeting to learn more about community engagement and enforcement of the ordinance that began July 1, 2024 banning the use of gas leaf blowers and string trimmers in Menlo Park.
