Sister City program

Menlo Park's Sister City program was created in November 2015 and the city joined Sister Cities International.

Although Menlo Park's formal program didn't start until 2015, its beginnings started in 2013 with the signing of a friendship agreement with the City of Galway, Ireland.

In 2020, the City Council approved a plan for the program to be governed by a community-based nonprofit organization that will work collaboratively with the City.

In 2021, the Menlo Park Sister Cities Association was formed.

Our current friendship and sister city relationships include:

Galway, Ireland

Galway became Menlo Park's first friendship city in 2013 and was upgraded to full sister city status in 2016.

Bizen, Japan

Bizen became a friendship city in 2015 and was changed to full sister city status in 2020.

Kochi, India

Kochi became a friendship city in 2015.

Xinbei District (Changzhou), China

Xinbei District, also known as Changzhou National High-tech Zone, is a friendship city.
