2016 General Election

On November 8, the City of Menlo Park will hold a General Municipal Election to fill two City Council seats. Each seat is for a four-year term commencing December 2016 and ending December 2020.

Eligibility

Anyone who is 18 years of age and who is a resident and registered voter in the City of Menlo Park may run for a seat on the City Council.

Process

The nomination period opened July 18 and closes on August 12. If nomination papers for an incumbent elective officer are not filed by the filing deadline, the nomination period is extended for five days.

Nomination and other related papers to run for City Council are available in the City Clerk’s Office. The City Clerk’s Office is open from Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on alternate Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
