General election information
Election Day is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The 2024 general election is Nov. 5, 2024. Menlo Park's municipal elections take place in even-numbered years and due to the City Council's staggered 4-year terms, at each regular election voters elect two or three City Councilmembers by district (each serving a four-year term).
The November 2018 election was the first general municipal election since Menlo Park implemented by-district elections and the November 2020 election completed the established election sequencing. Ordinance No. 1044 amended Chapter 2.04 of the municipal code to include the electoral districts and election sequencing. You can view the approved City Council districts.
