The California Book Group meets in-person to discuss books set in California, or by authors who live in or are from California. The group meets quarterly in March, June, September, and December.
Melanated Women Read is a virtual book group that is by and, especially for, Black Women. The purpose of this group is to serve as a unique space for Black Women to gather, be in community with each other, and honor/celebrate the literary works of Black authors with monthly discussions.
The Fiction Book Group meets virtually to discuss a range of novels: classics, contemporary, historical and more.
The Mystery Readers is a different kind of online book group: rather than reading the same book, we all share our reading of different books surrounding a particular theme.
The Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Group hosts hybrid meetings online and at Belle Haven Library to discuss works of speculative fiction, science fiction, fantasy and horror.
Teen Book Group is open to teens ages 12-17. We may be reading teen books that may involve heavier topics and themes. It is up to teens and their grown-ups to determine whether the title being discussed is relevant for them.
Middle Grade Book Group is an in-person group for kids ages 6-12 who are interested in reading chapter books. Our facilitators choose chapter books whose publisher-assigned age rating is between 8 and 12.
