The City is planning for upcoming improvements in Burgess Park that include renovating the existing playground with new equipment, fencing and adding an associated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking stall with concrete walkways.

This spring the City solicited bids from prospective contractors and the apparent low bidder was identified. Based on community support at a May pop-up event, 2017 direction from the Parks and Recreation Commission, and the 2019 Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan, the City Council awarded the contract at the July 11th Meeting. The improvements are proposed to be under construction late summer/early fall this year.

In anticipation for upcoming work within the park, various areas of Burgess Park will be temporarily closed through June 30, 2024. Signs have been placed in the vicinity to notify the closure in advance of work. Thank you for your patience during construction.
