Learn about General Plan implementation progress for 2024
Published on March 10, 2025
The General Plan is the City’s blueprint to meet the community’s vision for how Menlo Park will develop and grow in the future. The City’s progress towards implementing the General Plan is detailed through an Annual Progress Report (APR).
Menlo Park’s General Plan contains eight elements as required by state law: Land Use, Circulation, Housing, Environmental Justice, Safety, Noise, and Open Space and Conservation.
The City recently adopted updates to the Housing and Safety Elements, and last year, adopted its first-ever Environmental Justice Element. The Planning Commission and City Council will review the APR on the following dates:
- Monday, March 24 – Planning Commission @ 7 p.m. City Council Chambers
751 Laurel St.
- Tuesday, March 25 – City Council @ 6 p.m.
Belle Haven Community Campus 100 Terminal Ave.
The APR summarizes what happened in 2024, and does not modify or establish future priorities. The review serves as a communication tool to enhance understanding of City activities.
Meeting agendas with location, the APR, and related materials will be available on menlopark.gov/agendas at least 72 hours prior to the meeting. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and provide comments.
