Celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month with us! LGBTQ Pride month was originally established in honor of the Stonewall Riots in June 1969. Let’s reflect on the positive changes made and the advancement in the LGBTQ movement. Menlo Park has many upcoming events that celebrate the LGBTQ community including a film screening and discussion, art talk, author appearance and more.
All the Attractions of the Next World: LGBTQ Neighborhoods

Take a whirlwind tour of some of the Bay Area’s historic queer neighborhoods over the past 100 years, taking in North Beach, Polk Street, SoMa, the Tenderloin, the Castro and more. The talk includes rare photographs and illustrations sourced from the archival collections of the GLBT Historical Society.
LGBTQ Life in America: Examining the Facts

Authors Melissa Michelson and Brian Harrison join us to discuss the successes and shared history of LGBTQ people, and the current challenges they face in American society. Drs. Michelson and Harrison puncture myths, misconceptions, and incorrect assumptions about sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expectations and norms, while providing an illuminating record of the history of discrimination and mistreatment to which LGBTQ people have historically been subjected.
