To meet state regulatory requirements and respond to statewide drought conditions, the Menlo Park Municipal Water asks residents and businesses to take several actions to save more water.

The first step is for residents to water no more than their two assigned days per week and avoid watering between 8 a.m.–6 p.m.

  • If your address ends in an odd number
    Tuesday and Saturday

  • If your address ends in an even number
    Wednesday and Sunday

  • If your property has no address number or street address
    Wednesday and Sunday

These rules come from our Water Shortage Contingency Plan, which all water agencies in California are required to have. For now, all water agencies in the state have been told to implement conservation actions listed under a Stage 2 drought emergency.

State officials said they’ll check in about 90 days to see how much water has been conserved and, if needed, require even more stringent rules in the future.

Keep in mind that depending on where you live, you might not be in the Menlo Park Municipal Water service area. The City of Menlo Park is also served by the Cal Water Bear Gulch District and a few other smaller water districts, whose rules might be slightly different.
