Feb. 27 Planning Commission to broadcast at Belle Haven Branch Library

On Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, at 7 p.m., the Planning Commission will consider a use permit application to exceed nighttime noise limits to accommodate electric pool heating equipment at the Menlo Park Community Campus under construction at 100 Terminal Ave. 

Air source heat pumps, an all-electric method of pool heating is selected as the heating method for the lap and instructional pools. The electric heating equipment was selected to follow City goals of greenhouse gas reduction. Sometimes, the equipment may exceed the nighttime noise limits of 50 decibels measured at the nearest residential property line.

In response to feedback from the community, the Belle Haven Branch Library, at 413 Ivy Drive, will operate as a satellite participation location for the public hearing. Live audio and video of the meeting will be available at the library. Interested residents may participate in the public hearing and provide public comments to the Planning Commission from this additional location.
