1125 O’Brien Drive project EIR released for public review

The City will publish the focused Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the 1125 O’Brien Drive project on Friday, March 24, 2023. A paper copy will be available for review at the Menlo Park Library at 800 Alma St., and at the Belle Haven Branch Library at 413 Ivy Drive. Interested parties should request the report at the library information desk.

The proposed project includes:

  • A new five-story research and development building, up to 131,825 square feet in size
  • A lot merger to combine several existing lots together
  • Heritage Tree removal permits
  • Community amenities in-lieu fee (proposed as the applicant’s community amenity in exchange for bonus level development)

Residents are encouraged to review the focused Draft EIR and participate in the April 10, 2023, Planning Commission meeting to provide comments. The Planning Commission meeting agenda and link to the staff report will be available at least 72 hours before the meeting.

The comment review period for this focused Draft EIR has been set from Friday, March 24, through Monday, May 8, 2023. Written comments must be submitted no later than 5 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2023.

Following the close of the focused draft EIR public review period May 8, 2023, staff will prepare a final EIR that will include responses to all substantive comments received on the draft EIR.
