Safe Routes to School Task Force meeting
The next meeting of the Safe Routes to School Task Force is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 14, from 9-10:30 a.m.
The SRTS Task Force meets quarterly to discuss challenges related to walking and biking to school and to exchange ideas and opportunities for the Safe Routes to School program. Task Force meetings are open to the public and bring together representatives from the four school districts, the Menlo Park and Atherton police departments, city and county public works departments, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and Office of Education, local organizations and parents. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format.

Annual Atherton Bike Rodeo
Bring your family, bikes and helmets to the Town of Atherton's Annual Bike Rodeo, Sept. 30 at Menlo-Atherton High School.
Organized by the Atherton Police Department, this family-friendly event will feature valuable safety lessons and a celebration of cycling in the community. Free refreshments and snacks will be provided to participants during the event. Kids of all ages are invited to take part in the cycling obstacle course, designed to enhance biking skills. Participants will navigate through a series of control- and balance-focused courses, emphasizing the importance of safe cycling.
The Atherton Bike Rodeo will also include a dedicated safety zone where participants can learn bicycle safety tips and guidelines, including how to properly wear a helmet and perform safety checks before riding. Local law enforcement will provide insights and lessons about biking practices and the importance of obeying traffic rules.
