On Wednesday, Oct. 25, the Parks and Recreation Commission and Library Commission will hold a special joint meeting to hear community input and recommend options to City Council for potential names and/or dedications for the new multi-service center under construction at 100 Terminal Ave.

No final decisions about names or dedications will be made at the Oct. 25 meeting. The final decision about names and/or dedications will be made later by the City Council. The date of the future City Council review will be announced to the public in advance.

It is important to hear what the community thinks and values. Public comments are welcome at Parks and Recreation Commission and Library Commission meetings.

About the project

The new facility will feature 37,000 square feet of floor space on two levels, and will incorporate a public gymnasium, senior center, branch library, aquatics center, youth center (school-age child care), fitness center, makerspace, meeting rooms and event hall, among other features. The new facility is an all-electric, zero combustion, net zero energy project with onsite renewable energy generation, battery microgrid and electric vehicle charging stations and its structural design is resilient to serve as an emergency shelter. The project is currently on track for completion in 2024. When completed, the new facility will be owned and operated by City of Menlo Park for the community.
