The City Council will hold a study session Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. to review options for developing affordable housing on eight City-owned downtown parking lots. This initiative stems from the City's 2023-2031 Housing Element, which identifies the lots as potential sites for at least 345 affordable housing units. The study session will address prioritization of the parking plazas for redevelopment and the disposition process to select new developments for the selected sites. The outcome of the study session will shape the next steps in implementing the City's affordable housing goals for the downtown area.
