Volunteer with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley
Published on October 28, 2024
Volunteering with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley at the Menlo Park Senior Center is a great way to give back to the community. The Menlo Park Senior Center, located at the Belle Haven Community Campus (100 Terminal Ave., Menlo Park), offers a variety of services and programs for older adults aged 60 and above. These include nutritionally balanced meals, health and wellness programs, recreational activities and social events. Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is proud to partner with the site providing food to families, multi-generational households, seniors and college students.
You’re invited to volunteer at the Menlo Park Senior Center with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley by sorting and distributing food in our hands-on outdoor activity Farmer’s Market.
You might be setting up tables and displaying food; unloading and moving food from pallets, sorting produce, greeting, and checking in clients; assisting clients with their selections; or cleaning up the site and handling recyclables/compost. It’s a rewarding opportunity to connect, helping people feel a little more secure and find joy in the pleasure of cooking and sharing a meal with loved ones.
