Free bagged compost and mulch still available
Published on November 12, 2024
City staff will continue to supply free bagged compost at Burgess Park (corner of Burgess Dr. and Alma St.), Sharon Park, and Karl E. Clark Park until supplies last. Limit is three bags per Menlo Park resident per week.
Applying compost in landscaping:
- Promotes plant growth and health
- Provides plants nutrients and improves soil health
- Conserves water and combats climate change
Free mulch is available at Burgess Park (in the parking lot at the corner of Burgess Dr. and Alma St.) until Wednesday, Nov. 13. The event is self-serve. Please bring your own shovels, gloves and containers to fill.
Mulch reduces erosion, water loss and weeds. It can be used for pathways, sitting areas and planted landscapes. It is not certified for use in playgrounds.
