The public is invited to attend the Complete Streets Commission on March 12 at 6:30 p.m. to learn about the Coleman Avenue Pilot Project.

At the October 22, 2024 City Council meeting, City Council directed staff to proceed with the Coleman Avenue Pilot Project to improve safety and mobility on the city portion of Coleman Avenue (Coleman Avenue from Willow Road to Riordan Place).

The improvements considered include:

  • Parking removal on the north side of Coleman Avenue from Willow Road to the City/County boundary.
  • Stop signs on Coleman Avenue at Santa Monica Avenue to provide clear right of way designation for those crossing Coleman Avenue to access bus stops.
  • Traffic calming to reduce driver speeds.
  • Pilot bike facilities to improve safety and access for people biking on Coleman Avenue.

Coleman Avenue is a corridor that is used by many people, including students, to bike and walk between neighborhoods and schools including Laurel School Lower Campus, Menlo-Atherton High School and Laurel School Upper Campus. These proposed improvements would improve safety for people biking, walking and driving.

Join us at the Complete Streets Commission Wednesday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. at City Council Chambers (751 Laurel St.) or via Zoom on the published meeting agenda at menlopark.gov/agendas.
