San Mateo County and the City of Menlo Park are working to wrap up the Coleman-Ringwood Avenues Study after having completed a final set of outreach meetings and a public survey in December 2023.

The City of Menlo Park will be beginning outreach for the pilot bike lanes on Middle Avenue in February and March, including a public survey, outreach meetings, and meetings with stakeholders.

Coleman and Ringwood Avenues Study update:
The goal of the Coleman and Ringwood Avenues Transportation Study, led by the County of San Mateo with the City of Menlo Park as a partner, is to identify a conceptual street design developed with community input and engagement for Ringwood and Coleman Avenues. The study aims to improve transportation, safety and mobility for all roadway users. It will serve as a guide to the County of San Mateo, City of Menlo Park and their partners in implementing future street changes, if supported by the community and each jurisdiction’s leadership.

The City of Menlo Park anticipates bringing a final report to the Complete Streets Commission on Feb. 14. The report will present the options identified for both streets and the City will be seeking direction from the Commission on next steps. The same information will be presented to the San Mateo County Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee on Feb. 15.

Middle Avenue Complete Streets project update:
As part of the Middle Avenue Complete Streets project, the City will be beginning outreach for the pilot bike lanes on Middle Avenue in February and March, including a public survey, outreach meetings and meetings with stakeholders. The City will also begin data collection on how multimodal volumes, vehicle speeds, parking at Nealon Park and streets surrounding Middle Avenue and collisions. The City will be bringing a summary of outreach and data collection to the Complete Streets Commission and City Council later in spring.
