Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers provided valuable assistance to Menlo Park residents during the recent winter storms. CERT volunteers are trained to assist in emergencies by offering services such as supporting communications, gathering information and providing basic medical attention. During our recent storms, CERT volunteers were on the ground checking in on residents with reported power outages.

CERT is a critical Menlo Park community program run by the Menlo Park Fire Protection District. The program currently has 60 volunteers and is seeking additional members. The Menlo Park Fire Protection District continually runs free training sessions to become a member of CERT as well as related trainings such as disaster preparedness.
