Published on September 16, 2024
Calling all student artists! RethinkWaste’s 2024 Poster Contest is now open! Know any awesomely artistic students in third through eighth grade in the RethinkWaste service area? This year, there are two contest categories with winners from each: elementary school students (in grades three through five) and middle school students (in grades six through eight) within its service area. The theme should demonstrate how students sort their waste (solid waste, recycling and compost) every day.
Contest guidelines:
- Participants must be third to eighth-grade students in the RethinkWaste service area.
- Poster must be 8.5 x 11-inch white paper in landscape (horizontal) orientation. No lined paper.
- No copyrighted material, computer graphics, or characters. Must be all original artwork.
- Posters must be 2D and in any medium (paint, markers, color pencils, crayons, etc.)
This year’s contest is only for individual students. Only one entry is permitted per student. The winning posters from each contest category will be displayed on a local Recology truck, and the second place winners will choose either a fun activity or a gift card.
Submissions are due online Oct. 18 by 11:59 p.m. Online applications are now available on the Poster Contest webpage. For more information, please email RethinkWaste at roceguera@rethinkwaste.org or call 650-802-3508
