SamTrans, in partnership with the San Mateo County Office of Education, is excited to be a part of the 16th Annual Art Takes a Bus Ride contest. We've been trapped inside for a long time, but now it's time to get back out there! What will you do now that you can go outside and spend time with friends again? How will you use SamTrans to see and do what you love? The contest invites local students to submit artistic creations for the theme "San Mateo County Reopens."

The Art Takes a Bus Ride art competition is for San Mateo County students in grades 1-12. The artwork of two finalists is displayed on the sides of two SamTrans buses for a year, and student art is displayed on cards inside the buses.

Details:

  • Deadline to submit all artwork is Feb. 25, 2022.
  • Artwork is to be created on 9x12 inches wide white paper in a horizontal orientation.
  • The student's name, grade, school, and teacher must be on the back of the artwork to be considered.
  • All artwork must be accompanied by a release form, available in English and Spanish on the Art Takes a Bus Ride contest website. Please have the form signed by parent or guardian for all students participating in the competition.
