The entire month of May is National Bike Month. Menlo Park encourages all schools to participate and promote walking and biking to school during the month of May.

While building a sense of community and school spirit, Walk and Roll to School Days are opportunities for families to integrate and discover the benefits of active commuting to school or other day-to-day destinations such as the park, the library, grocery store, etc.

Celebrate events in your area this month:

  1. National Bike to School Day, celebrated on May 4, 2022! Plan a Walk and Roll to School Day at your school. The Menlo Park Safe Routes to School program has created a Champion toolkit that includes a step-by-step guide to organize the event along other activity ideas and poster templates. Email the Safe Routes to School Coordinator for more information.
  2. On Bike to Wherever Days, May 20-22, 2022, the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition will have Energizer Stations and pop-ups distributed across the region where you can pick up an official Bike to Wherever Day bag for free if you sign up to Pledge to Ride. A map of all the Energizer Stations in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties where you can pick up your free bag will be available May 4.
