Walk with us Monday, Nov. 14, to celebrate Ruby Bridges’ courageous legacy and to show support for social justice, equity and inclusion in our schools.

Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day has transformed from an event celebrated at just a few schools to becoming recognized statewide in 2021. Many schools in San Mateo County and the Ruby Bridges Foundation celebrate this day with the goal of continuing the journey to end racism and all forms of bullying.

The City of Menlo Park is proud to celebrate its fourth Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day this year. The Menlo Park Safe Routes to School program encourages all schools and families to participate in the event.

All students are invited to share pictures and stories about why they will participate in Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day, or why they like to walk and bicycle. Students who participate will be entered into a raffle for $50 gift certificates to Kepler’s Books. There will be 12 winners in this contest!

Register your school and celebrate Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day! For more information, please reach out to the Safe Routes to School Coordinator, Andre-Anne Cadieux.
