Share feedback on the SamTrans Bus Stop Improvement Plan

SamTrans has released a draft of its final Bus Stop Improvement Plan (BSIP) for review and comment. The goal of BSIP is to inventory bus stops in San Mateo County and propose new bus stop design guidelines.

Currently, SamTrans bus stop amenities vary from a simple sign marking a stop, to those with benches, shelters and/or maps. BSIP has identified stops throughout San Mateo County for upgrade, in order to address accessibility and comfort issues including equity priority areas, impact from the sun, lack of sidewalks, etc. Proposed upgrades to stops include adding shelters, shade structures, maps and schedules, boarding islands and real-time information to track buses.
