Join the Caltrain electrified train launch Sept. 21 and 22
Published on September 03, 2024
On Saturday, Sept. 21, Caltrain will rollout fully electrified mainline services. To accompany this rollout, Caltrain has released a new set of schedules:
The fully electrified services will reduce travel time and increase service frequency compared to the diesel fleet.
During weekday commute hours, four trains will run through the City of Menlo Park in each direction per hour (i.e., eight total trains per hour). Of those four trains, three will serve the City and the other will be a pass through train. During weekends, train services will increase from one train per hour to one train every 30 minutes.
To better align with this new schedule, the City is working with its key stakeholders to revise its own shuttle service schedules to provide better transfer experiences.
For additional information, including a new numbering system for the new services, please visit the Caltrain website.
For additional City shuttle service information, please contact the City’s Transportation Division at (650) 330-6770 or email transportation@menlopark.gov.
You're also invited to join Caltrain for upcoming community celebrations Sept. 21–22! Celebrate by riding Caltrain’s new, modern electric trains for free all weekend long and joining celebratory festivities across the corridor. Check out other station activations before heading to one of our community celebrations listed below. Each station activation is led by one of Caltrain's City or transportation partners and will have unique activities for you to enjoy.
