Burgess Park Reopening

Residents are invited to join the City of Menlo Park to celebrate the reopening of Burgess Park this Saturday, June 1, at 10 a.m.

Burgess Park closed in late January to provide upgrades to the park. A key focus was to provide more accessibility for children with all abilities. This includes new accessible playground equipment, a rubberized surface around all play areas and an ADA parking stall. In addition, the area features a new play area sign, benches, picnic tables and fences adorned with decorative laser-cut oak leaf designs.

It was important for the City to preserve the trees and natural landscape of the park when designing the new playground and improving the accessibility of travel within and around the park.

Park maintenance also included the installation of utility lines, drains and improvements to grading.
