Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club Improvements

The proposed landscaping work for the golf course would include grading changes, irrigation improvements, new pathways and landscaping throughout the 18-hole golf course and expansion of the artificial lake to increase recycled water storage. The proposed solar array work would include construction of three carports on the main parking lot, with roof-mounted solar panels; two pergolas adjacent to the existing clubhouse and pool deck, with roof-mounted solar panels; and installing roof-mounted solar panels on the existing clubhouse and pool building, which do not require Planning Commission review.

The proposed project includes development and non-development related tree removals. The development related heritage tree removal permits have been conditionally approved pending the Planning Commission’s action on the use permit and architectural control requests.

The following summarizes the heritage tree removals, estimated required replacement value/mitigation, and total proposed replacement tree values/mitigation.

Non-development related heritage trees: 108 (Mitigation required = approximately $154,800, based on tree size)
Development related heritage trees: 258 (Mitigation required = approximately $625,900, based on tree appraisal values)
Total heritage tree removals = 366 (Total required mitigation = approximately $780,700)
Total proposed mitigation = $1,510,000
Total number of replacement trees = 208 (Mostly oaks and native sycamores in large container sizes)

Current status

The proposed project has been scheduled and noticed for the March 13, 2023, Planning Commission meeting, where the Planning Commission will review and take action on the requested entitlements for the project.
