The Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan is intended to provide a road map to guide decision making to help the City maintain, manage and develop its park, open space and recreation facility system for the next 20 years, and provide the community with the recreational opportunities that they desire. The Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan Update studies the existing park and recreation facilities, and draws on extensive community engagement to identify a planning blueprint to expand, improve and protect these assets and provide recreational opportunities for the future.

On October 15, 2019, the City Council accepted the Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan. Following a robust community engagement process and feedback from the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Plan included 123 recommendations, of which 44 were complex, capital projects that required further prioritization and future funding to be completed. The prioritization framework was detailed in the Plan (Chapter 6), and resulted in 14 projects identified in the highest priority “Tier 1” ranking system.
This table contains brief updates on each of the 14 projects identified in the Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan's highest priority "Tier 1" ranking system.
