Thriving at all ages: taking action for suicide prevention
Published on September 19, 2022
For 2022, San Mateo County, Star Vista, and Menlo Park are promoting the statewide theme of Take Action for Suicide Prevention: Thriving at all Ages. We use this month to reach out to those affected by suicide, raise awareness and connect individuals with suicidal ideation to treatment services. It is also important to ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention.
Throughout our communities, many people are continuing to experience mental health challenges, trauma, burn-out, and fatigue due to the prolonged impacts of the pandemic and natural disasters.
In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, join us Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at 6 p.m., as our guest panel shares their personal experiences and stories of hope. Join for an enlightening, de-stigmatizing discussion about suicide. Our panelists include suicide survivors who have graduated from the Lived Experience Academy speakers training program. Our guests talk about their own mental health challenges, sharing their experience, strength and hope for the rest of us.
