Want to help on the front line of democracy? The County’s Registration and Elections Division seeks candidates for numerous positions. Election workers can earn $22.30 an hour to start as an office assistant helping with the run-up to the general election on Nov. 8, 2022.

Numerous other short-term paid positions are also available to help conduct a fair, accurate, secure and transparent election. These include:

  • Vote Center representative: $22.30 per hour
  • Warehouse and field technician: $26.37 per hour
  • Office specialist: $26.77 per hour

Several positions require fluency in English as well as Burmese, Cantonese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Tagalog/Filipino.

Under the Voter’s Choice Act, Vote Centers replace traditional polling places. Vote Centers are open throughout the county for up to a month before Election Day.

All positions are paid: Even “Vote Center Volunteers” can earn a stipend of up to $280 for working on Election Day and attending a training session.

Other positions have immediate openings for office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Anyone may apply for these important positions. The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidates' application, followed by a departmental interview.
