City Council to review 2022 Housing Element annual progress report
Published on March 13, 2023
On March 14, the City Council will be considering the annual progress report for the 2022 calendar year before submission to the State of California. In 2022, the City issued building permits for 837 net new dwelling units, which is an over 700% increase above the 2021 total of 96 net new units.
The 2022 annual progress report is especially significant because it is the final year of reporting for the City's former Housing Element covering the period from 2015-2023. During this time, Menlo Park achieved over 100% of the Regional Housing Needs Allocation for very low, low and above moderate income units, as well as made progress on a variety of programs to further support housing for all.
In January 2023, the City adopted a new Housing Element for the 2023-2031 planning period. For more information, please visit the Housing Element Update webpage.
