City Council has proclaimed May 21–27 as National Public Works Week
Published on May 20, 2023
The Menlo Park City Council has proclaimed the week of May 21–27, as National Public Works Week and asks all residents to join them in thanking our Public Works staff for their contributions in protecting our health, safety and quality of life.
Public Works is the thread that connects us all, no matter where we live in the world. This year’s theme "Connecting the World Through Public Works,” highlights the way public works professionals connect us through infrastructure and service, enhancing the quality of life for the communities they serve.
The Menlo Park Public Works team helps to keep communities strong by providing services in transportation, engineering, water, storm water management, public facilities, parks, streets, trees, fleet and capital improvement projects. Public Works staff strive to ensure that they are responding to the needs of the residents in our community. The latest example was their response during the recent storms. The Public Works team went above and beyond to make sure the community was safe by preparing for the storms, monitoring the impacts, responding to emergencies and managing cleanup efforts afterwards.
