September is National Preparedness Month! We recognize disaster preparedness during September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies. To stay safe and prepared, the City of Menlo Park encourages our community to check out these helpful tips and resources:

  • Build an emergency kit, complete with:
    • Non-perishable food and water that can last several days.
    • Flashlights, radios & extra batteries.
    • First aid kit.
  • Make a plan
    • Consider any special needs your family might have.
    • Make sure your kids know important phone numbers.
    • Learn your evacuation routes.
  • Sign up for San Mateo County Emergency Alerts (SMC alerts)
    • Receive critical information and emergency notifications about natural disasters, hazards, road closures, missing persons and more in our community within minutes.
