The Strategy to Advance Flood protection, Ecosystems Restoration and Recreation along San Francisco Bay (SAFER Bay) Project is a multi-jurisdictional and public-private collaboration to protect communities and critical infrastructure from sea level rise and tidal flooding in the cities of Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. Using both engineered structures and nature-based flood protection, the effort consists of a 7.5-mile alignment along the southeast San Francisco Bay shoreline designed to provide a 100-year level of flood protection in addition to 3.5 feet of sea-level rise.

As part of this effort, geotechnical investigations this week will impact access to the Bay Trail. Detour routes will be marked and available for walkers and bikers. Please follow all signs and road instructions in the affected areas to ensure your safety.
