Hands holding soil

Free bagged compost is available at Burgess Park (corner of Burgess Dr. and Alma St.), Sharon Park and Karl E. Clark Park until the end of October. The limit is three bags per Menlo Park resident per week.

Applying compost in landscaping:
  • Promotes plant growth and health
  • Provides plants nutrients and improves soil health
  • Conserves water and combats climate change

Free mulch is available at Burgess Park (in the parking lot at the corner of Burgess Dr. and Alma St.) until end of October. The event is self-serve. Please bring your own shovels, gloves and containers to fill.

Mulch reduces erosion, water loss and weeds. It can be used for pathways, sitting areas and planted landscapes. It is not certified for use in playgrounds.
