Attend the SFCJPA Reach 2 Virtual Meeting June 5
Published on May 27, 2025
The San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority (SFCJPA) will host a virtual community meeting on June 5 to share San Francisquito Creek Reach 2 project details for flood risk reduction and gather community input. Please plan to attend if you live near the creek, have been impacted by flooding or are interested in learning more about the Reach 2 project.
Virtual Meeting – June 5, 6–8 p.m.
This meeting will be available via Zoom. Register here.
The project's design goals include protecting the communities of Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park by containing the 1998 flood-of-record, which is equivalent to a 70-year storm event. The project also aims to provide ecological and recreational benefits where possible and ensure that future protective measures can be implemented if needed.
All project options consist of three key elements: replacing or modifying the Pope-Chaucer Bridge, widening the channel and adding floodwall protection along the creek. The specific design details will be determined after the SFCJPA board selects a preferred project alternative this summer.
