Submit artwork for a library card art exhibition

Bring us along on your library adventure! The City of Menlo Park is refreshing our library cards and inviting community members of all ages to submit original artwork inspired by the theme “My Library Adventure in Menlo Park.” Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of staff and stakeholders, and select designs will be printed on new library cards and made available to the public. Any artist whose work is selected for printing will be notified prior to printing.

Submissions will be accepted between September 1 and October 31 with an art gallery of community submissions in the library from November 18 – January 15, 2026. New library cards printed with community designs are tentatively planned to be available in January.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Participant must live in or attend school in Menlo Park.
  2. All artwork must be the original work of the artist and can be created digitally or by hand. We are unable to accept designs with copyrighted characters (ex. Mickey Mouse) or designs made using generative AI.
  3. One submission per artist.
  4. In accordance with the Menlo Park Library and Belle Haven Library Use Guidelines, submissions with content that is deemed to be “prejudice or intolerance of any variety, including derogatory comments, hate speech, and/or repeated microaggressions toward others” will not be accepted.
  5. The submission period runs September 1 through October 31. Late submissions will not be considered for printing or exhibition.
  6. All submissions must include: the artist’s name, age, address, phone number, email, and school attended if artist is a student. 
  7. Hand drawn submissions can be turned in to the Menlo Park Library or the Belle Haven Library with a printed submission form(PDF, 137KB).
  8. Digital submissions in PDF, PNG or JPEG formats will be accepted on this page during the submission period.
