Learn about the Menlo Park SAFER Bay Project at the Farmer’s Market
Published on September 02, 2025
Join us at the Menlo Park Farmer’s Market (parking lot on Chestnut Street, between Santa Cruz and Menlo Avenues) on Sunday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. for a pop-up to learn about the SAFER Bay Project! This regional effort is focused on protecting local neighborhoods, businesses and infrastructure from the impacts of sea level rise and tidal flooding. The City’s portion of the project, led by the Public Works Department, will build a system of levees, floodwalls and trails along the Menlo Park area of the shoreline, designed to reduce flood risk while also creating community amenities.
At the pop-up, you’ll be able to talk with project staff, learn about Menlo Park’s role in the larger effort and share your thoughts on the design currently underway. The City is working to complete its portion of the project design by the end of 2026 and your input will help shape the outcome.
Can’t make it this time? Keep an eye out for more SAFER Bay pop-ups and workshops coming soon!
