On January 9 each year, we celebrate national Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. This day highlights the lengths police officers go to serve the public and make a difference while doing the job they love. It also generates awareness of the dangers police officers face every day.

While we continue to experience the uncertainties of the global pandemic, we express our gratitude for officers throughout the country. Local police officers work together every day to keep the community safe. Our law enforcement professionals and officers show that strength and transparency can bring our community together during difficult times. Menlo Park's officers and staff take pride in providing the highest level of service to the public, by embracing the mission of protecting life and property for our entire community while serving with integrity and professionalism.

Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is often marked with community support. We appreciate the gestures of support for our local law enforcement throughout the year with residents sharing positive messages on social media, acknowledging the work of our employees through letters or email, making donations to a police organization or foundation, participating in events like “coffee with a cop” or whenever you cross paths with our team members and have a conversation or simply say hello.

The men and women of the Police Department are proud to serve our diverse community. Each day officers and police staff strive to put their best foot forward at the highest levels and exceed the expectations of the community and everyone they come into contact. They chose this profession to serve, protect and to improve the community.
